Residential Proxy vs Datacenter Proxy

Residential proxies use IPs from real consumer ISPs and look like ordinary home users. Datacenter proxies use IPs from cloud and hosting providers and are easily identified as non-residential. Pick by whether the destination tolerates non-residential traffic.
Both forward traffic on your behalf, but the IP address attached to your requests comes from different sources. That single difference drives almost everything else: cost, detectability, and use cases.
